SAP’s innovative in-memory platform SAP HANA has been ranked as one of the leading solutions, according to a new report.
SAP HANA was ranked as one the top solutions by Forrester Research in their new report: The Forrester Wave: In-Memory Database Platforms, Q3 2015.
Noel Yuhanna, Principle Analyst, Forrester Wave, said the ‘razor-sharp focus on in-memory technology’ from SAP is now ‘paying off’.
The analysis of SAP HANA and similar solutions placed SAP’s in-memory application as the highest ranked platform for current offering and strategy, whilst also being ranked as the best system for market presence.
The report also gave SAP top marks for vision, data management features and transaction capabilities and for execution, customers, partners, revenue, performance, plus scale and analytics support.
Greg McStravick, Global Head of Database and Technology at SAP, said the research “validates the strategic path we are pioneering for in-memory computing across the industry.”
“We are helping customers move away from point database solutions to a much more powerful in-memory platform, capable of running any analytical and transactional application in a single environment. Our commitment to delivering continuous innovation around the SAP HANA platform ensures we are helping customers succeed in today’s digital economy.”
Last year, the number of customers running SAP HANA doubled. Now more than 7,200 customers use real-time analytics to manage their business. In particular, the adoption of SAP HANA by start-up firms has increased with more than 2,100 new companies using the platform to achieve growth opportunities. In total, SAP estimates there are around 850,000 active users of SAP HANA.
