News feature: SAP No.1 for supply chain management, report finds

The Market Snapshot: Supply Chain Management Software, Worldwide, 2014 report found that SAP saw its supply chain business increase by nearly a fifth (19.9%) — which represents a 25.8% market share.

The report added that SAP has also extended its position as overall leader for supply chain planning, with a 30.6% market share.

SAP said its position within the report ‘highlights the continued strong adoption’ of its advanced planning and optimisation tools and integrated business planning solution on SAP HANA.

Hans Thalbauer, Senior Vice President, Line-of-Business Solutions for Extended Supply Chain, SAP, said the report reflects the innovation across all SAP solutions.

‘We believe the findings by Gartner reflect that SAP’s presence in the supply chain market continues to grow and that our recent innovations in the areas of integrated business planning, transportation and warehouse management are being widely adopted,’ he said.

In a separate Gartner report, SAP was selected as the vendor of choice by 22 of 27 companies for supply chain management, whilst also being included on the supply chain masters list.
