New President for SAP Business One after SAP restructure

Barry Padgett the new President of SAP Business One SAP has appointed Barry Padgett as President of its suite of solutions aimed at small businesses.

Mr Padgett will oversee the SAP Business One, SAP Anywhere and SAP Business ByDesign teams from the 1st July 2016.

Steve Singh, a member of SAP’s Executive Board, said the new President “brings the perfect combination of enterprise and entrepreneurial spirit to the role.”

Padgett joins SAP after holding a series of senior leadership positions at Concur Technologies since 1997. He joins the newly created position after serving as Chief Product Officer at Concur for the past two years.

“With customers increasingly expecting real-time service from all companies, regardless of size, SMB business owners need to respond, without having large, internal IT organisations to support their efforts,” said Mr Padgett

Alongside the new appointment, SAP has also restructured its software teams to help SMEs operate and compete in the new digital economy. The SAP Business One application, SAP Anywhere and SAP Business ByDesign applications will now all sit under one organisation within SAP.

SAP says the move will help it to build “complete, best-in-class front-office and back-office solutions”.

Luis Murguia, the global head of SAP Business One, EJ Jackson, head of SAP Anywhere, Michael Schmitt, head of SAP Business ByDesign and Rob Chu, global head of SMB development and support, will all now report to Mr Padgett as part of the restructuring project.

Mr Padgett added: “I’m very excited to help drive this new organization focused on meeting the needs of SMBs with front-office and back-office solutions designed specifically for them.”
