Bio-D is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of environmentally friendly household products. After battling against disparate solutions for a number of years, the company has decided to replace its existing systems with a SAP Business One manufacturing solution from Milner Browne.
The company, which sells and distributes its products across the globe, has been using different applications for financial, manufacturing and stock management. With the introduction of SAP Business One, they are confident they have chosen a solution that not only provides best-practice but also future-proofs the organisation for years to come.
“We’ve been using Sage Line 50 for our finance, sales and procurement,” said Nicole Morrell, Finance Manager at Bio-D. “There’s also Sage Manufacturing for our production and we also use spreadsheets to track our inventory. But we feel the current systems are not capable of meeting the current or future needs of the business.”
Like many growing businesses using various systems, Bio-D has been experiencing a host of common growing pains. Human error as a result of data duplication between different systems has led to uncertainty in stock levels. “We’ve had to find various workarounds for different issues,” Nicole explained. “But with SAP Business One we’ve selected a platform that provides a best-practice approach from a systems and business process perspective.”

This will obviously help us make faster and more informed business decisions due to the quality of information available leading to improved sales and sales margins.
“Also, because we’ll finally be integrating our warehouse activities, we’ll have a central and accurate source of information to manage our stock more effectively. It will be so much easier to record the intake and dispatch of stock in our warehouses. We can finally get rid of all those spreadsheets!”
