“Mollart Engineering has witnessed an increase in turnover by around 14% for the past two years since implementation. We have also seen much greater control of our inventory and our decision-making on what items need to be restocked is a far simpler process.”
– Mike Pragnell, Operations Director

Mollart Engineering is a leading deep hole drilling specialist with a global reputation for the expert design, development and the production of tools and associated processes. Established some 85 years ago, Mollart is a family-run company that now serves a variety of international industries, including aerospace, automotive, defence, oil, nuclear, semiconductor and telecommunications. Around three years ago, they realised it required an advanced business management solution to complete its day-to-day activities. With a disparate IT system “soon to be made obsolete“ Mollart made the decision to implement an ERP solution that would incorporate all of the company’s divisions into one solution. After having acquired a tool-making company that already used SAP Business One Mollart quickly recognised how a wider implementation of the popular ERP solution could benefit the whole business.
How we helped Mollart
Milner Browne worked closely with Mollart Engineering to enhance and develop the SAP Business One add-on, B1 Production. As well as the comprehensive range of standardised tools within SAP Business One, Mollart Engineering also required in-depth functionality that would provide true insight into daily production costs.
SAP-certified developers from Milner Browne created a SAP Business One manufacturing solution that delivers accurate job costings on each project completed by Mollart. These benefited the whole of the company with it able to make smarter, more informed business decisions and ultimately resulted in an increase of turnover by 14% in consecutive financial years.
A company-wide integrated solution
Accurate job costings
Advanced inventory control
The company-wide implementation of SAP Business One has delivered a host of benefits to Mollart Engineering. The organisation has been able to reduce the amount of applications and database it once used in a favour of a single, integrated solution. With a trusted vault of data the company can confidently make more informed decisions when planning and managing production tasks.
Mollart now has greater control over its inventory and being able to identify true job costings has been able to increase levels of turnover by 14% in consecutive years. Marketing documents are easily completed within SAP Business One and levels of productivity have increased across the company thanks to a user-friendly interface and the ability to quickly drill-down into information.
The ability to access timely information on activities has improved the accuracy of reports and forecasting and reduced levels of human error across the business. Additionally, functionality developed by Milner Browne in tandem with Mollart Engineering delivered the required costing accuracy the company once searched for.
