When Interchem was introduced to Milner Browne by a third-party consultant the company was using a dated solution that was preventing the organisation from meeting its operational targets. This solution also did not integrate databases for stock, suppliers and customers. This resulted in a various manual data duplication tasks and saw the company unable to rely on the information it had on file. Because of these disparate solutions or spreadsheets used for different departments, reports used to take a significant amount of time and effort to generate.

The software that Interchem was using before the introduction of SAP Business One was coming to its end of life and needed to be upgraded. Company directors recognised it had two choices. To upgrade the solution or move away completed and adopt new technology. The directors decided to work with a third-party consultant to advise possible alternatives. Key stakeholders realised that a move to SAP Business One would be a complete shift for organisational processes – but one that was required.

By integrating databases for customers, suppliers and stock, the company was able to finally centralised its information in one solution. Disparate solutions and various spreadsheets were removed.
The switch to a single solution provides users with real-time insight into key analytics. This reliable and accurate data is now easily accessed when the company directors and line managers wish to generate reports into financial or performance metrics.
Levels of customer service have also improved. Customer-facing staff are only a few clicks away from accessing comprehensive business partner records. This allows them to access activity and other historical data and respond first time to queries more effectively.
